Graduate Students

Graduate students who are already engaged with–or would like to engage with–community partners in their research, teaching, creative activities, or any aspect of their professional or personal life are welcome to participate in the Swearer Center community.

Graduate students in any academic program can:

  • apply for research and program administration fellowships at the Swearer Center;
  • join learning communities or attend events to learn, reflect, and strategize with colleagues;
  • mentor undergraduate students; and
  • consult with Swearer Center staff about their interests.

Graduate Student Opportunities

Graduate students currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral degree program at Brown can apply for a Royce Graduate Fellowship.
The Swearer Center invites current Brown undergraduate and graduate students, in any concentration or field, to apply for Engaged Research Mini-Grants of up to $500.
The Swearer Center provides undergraduate and graduate students with a diverse range of leadership and engagement opportunities, including participation in Peer Advising, the Student Advisory Committee and many types of volunteer and service opportunities.
Open to doctoral students with a focus on social science research related to community engagement, higher education, university-community partnerships, assessment, organizational change and/or professional networks and field-building.
