Biography

Kelly (Ramirez) Stone has more than 25 years of experience in social enterprise and international
development. She is the Inaugural Director of the Ryan Incubator at Providence College. Previously she
was the Co-founder and CEO of Social Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG). She teaches/has taught Social
Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, the Rhode Island School of
Design, Brown University, and Salve Regina University. She previously directed the first Social
Enterprise Initiative at the William Davidson Institute (WDI) at the University of Michigan where she
built networks of Social Enterprises in Eastern and Central Europe and Latin America. She has consulting
and project management experience with organizations such as the Ford Foundation, the European
Commission, USAID, the State Department, Mass Challenge, Hyundai, Global Fellows in Courage,
Brown University and Roche.

Kelly worked for the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Service as a political and economic officer focused
on human rights and democracy building. She also served as an election monitor for the OSCE, and as a
Peace Corps volunteer in Slovakia. Kelly received MA Degrees in Public Policy and Urban Planning
from the University of Michigan, completed a leadership and management program at the Ross School of
Business, and was awarded a scholarship to attend a nonprofit leadership program at the Harvard
Business School. She serves on several boards and advisory boards and has received numerous awards for
her leadership in the community.

Kelly is the proud mother of three, likes to cook, garden and travel. She loves design and is an avid
collector of mid-century chairs.
