RI Community Jobs (RICOMJOBS) Transition Hub

After more than two decades of sharing community job opportunities through the RICOMJOBS listserv, we are integrating this resource with BrownEngage, the Swearer Center’s hub for community engagement.

Starting June 1, 2025, all job postings will move to this new, streamlined system. This page will continue to be updated with resources during this transition. If you are searching for jobs through RICOMJOBS, you do not need to create an account. Accounts only need to be created if you are posting a job.

Posting Jobs: Getting Started

You’ll now post directly to BrownEngage—no more forms or emails. You’ll have more control and visibility over your listings, including the ability to edit, remove and track responses.

Step 1: Creating an Account

Go to brownengage.brown.edu and click the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner.

Step 2: Creating an Agency Profile

Go to brownengage.brown.edu and click the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner.

In the BrownEngage system, posting a job is referred to as “Creating a Need.” These are the jobs posted to the RICOMJOBS section that job seekers can respond to.

Creating Needs

Go to My Agency > Needs.
Click Add New Need.
Complete the required fields (title, description, location, etc.).
Set an optional application deadline.
Click Create Need to finish.

Searching for a Job

If you are searching for jobs through RICOMJOBS, you do not need to create an account to browse opportunities.

Simply visit BrownEngage Job Listings to search for current openings.
In the new system, jobs may be listed as “Needs”— these are the same community job postings shared previously via RICOMJOBS.
All postings are updated regularly, so you will only see open and active positions.

Why the Change?

This new system responds to long-standing community feedback by offering:

Up-to-date, accurate job listings.
Editable postings with closing dates.
Searchable and filterable listings for job seekers.
The ability to track responses directly (optional).

By moving to BrownEngage, we hope to make this job-sharing network even more accessible and responsive to community needs.
